Dan Savage, 29 years old, began his drifting career in 2007 in the US Drift Series with a 1993 Mazda Miata MX-5. Through years of competing in various Pro-Am events, as well as his involvement in running the Drift Nirvana events at Summit Point Motorsports Park, Savage’s name quickly became well known throughout the grassroots drift scene. In 2013 Dan qualified within the top 8 at all of the US Drift Pro Am events, plus taking podium & pole position spots at venues such as Englishtown Raceway, New Jersey Motorsports Park, and Summit Point Raceway. After finishing out a successful year, Savage earned the opportunity to step up to the pro ranks as a Formula Drift Rookie in 2014, where he would be driving the new SIKKY Manufacturing RX8.
Dan started his Formula Drift career off strong, qualifying into the Top 32 and earning a spot to compete at the Pro1 level for several events, while also qualifying and competing in every Pro2 event- a brand new championship series catering to the up and coming drivers in the Formula Drift Pro series. It was quite a stellar rookie season for Savage as he earned awards in Pro2 for Top Qualifier and Most Head-to-Head Battles Won throughout the season. On top of that he finished out his 2014 Pro1 season holding the Top 30 ranking and took home the overall Pro2 Championship Title! Setting his goals even higher for 2015, Savage is determined to continue his momentum and climb the ranks within the Pro1 Formula Drift Series.
